  • Anaphylaxis and asthma risk management in childcare settings

  • CPR assessment for children, alongside adult and infant CPR

  • Recognising symptoms of common childhood illnesses, such as febrile convulsions, dehydration, vomiting, and diarrhoea

  • Understanding how to communicate emergency details to parents, caregivers, and emergency services

I Work in Childcare—Do I Need to Complete HLTAID012?

Yes! HLTAID012 is approved by ACECQA and meets the requirements for first aid, anaphylaxis management, and asthma management in childcare and early education settings. While separate courses for first aid, asthma, and anaphylaxis management exist, completing HLTAID012 ensures all requirements are met in a single, streamlined course.

How Long Does the Online Component Take?

For students choosing the online with face-to-face assessment option, you should allow 4.5 to 6.5 hours to complete the pre-course online work. This includes video content and assessment tools, and it must be completed before attending the practical assessment.
